I hate the cry it out method.

I’ve read that after a certain period of time and after so much crying the baby will go into a trauma response and actually shut parts of its brain down to cope and self soothe and this is really a survival instinct and can increase anxiety in individuals that went through this as babies.

For me, it worked with my baby. BUT. i DO NOT support people who let them cry for HOURS. I let her cry for 5 minutes, soothed, and did that until she slept. Eventually, it worked! She sleeps great now. I never let her cry for more than 15 minutes.
